Application Process

When can I apply?

Applications will run from now until 01 January 2021. You can apply here.

How do I know if I should apply?

The Academy of Change programme is designed for future leaders working on climate change and sustainability within the NGO sector, eager to undertake a unique professional development journey to accelerate change in the sustainable behaviours that really matter. For further details about the selection requirements, please check the programme page here.

Do I need to be the behaviour change expert of my NGO or to have a behavioural knowledge background in order to apply?

No, behavioural knowledge is not among the programme selection criteria. However, applicants are expected to have the ability to apply the learnings of the programme in their daily work, in current or future projects. Once part of the Academy, participants will become ambassadors of sustainable behaviour change in their organisations.

Can teams apply?

No, Academy of Change will only accept applications from individuals. However, NGOs can send more than one application.

When can I expect the results of the application process?

All applicants will be notified of the results via email.

Academy Programme

Do I need to pay any fee to participate in the Academy programme?

No, the programme is entirely free. Participants will be selected through an application process.

Do I need to pay for my own travel costs to join the workshops that are part of the programme?

It depends. Travel costs support will be provided to max. 20 Academy participants within Europe who demonstrate need (please note, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the programme will take place entirely online).

Do I need a visa to enter the workshop countries?

Academy participants should check visa requirement rules as applicable to their case. Visa matters are at the responsibility of the Academy participants (please note, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the programme will take place entirely online).

What is the expectation in terms of my time commitment and engagement?

We expect Academy participants to dedicate about 4h per month for a total of 4 months to the programme. When applying to the Academy, you are committing to do your best to participate in the whole programme. We expect all applicants to be fair when indicating their interest, as places in the Academy are limited, and offering places to some might mean not being able to offer places to other applicants. For further details about time commitment, please check the Academy programme.

How is the Academy programme delivered and funded?

Academy of Change is a non-profit initiative of the Collaborating Centre on Sustainable Consumption and Production (CSCP) and Behaviour Change and the International Civil Society Centre (ICSC), funded by the KR Foundation.
